Why do your roots get greasy so fast?
Roots greasy by noon, itching, dandruff. Is washing your hair every day harmful?
you can wash daily
Why does it get greasy?
The scalp is one of the areas of the body with the most oil glands. According to a review of 57 studies, men produce more oil than women, and it barely drops with age. If your forehead and roots shine by noon, that's normal.
Is washing every day harmful?
The belief that "the more you wash, the greasier it gets" is common, but research shows the opposite. In a study published in 2021, people who washed 5-6 times a week were the most satisfied with the state of their hair and scalp. In the controlled part, daily washing did better than washing once a week on every measure, and no harm to the hair was seen.
Washing it right
- 1Apply shampoo to your scalp, not the ends.
- 2Massage with your fingertips, without digging in your nails.
- 3Don't use very hot water, and rinse thoroughly.
- 4If your hair got sweaty during training, wash it.
If itching and dandruff don't clear in a few weeks, see a dermatologist.
