How can you tell your skin type?
Dry, oily, combination, normal or sensitive. A simple observation you can do at home in 30 minutes.
30-minute test
The 30-minute test
- 1Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry with a soft towel.
- 2Don't apply any products; wait 30 minutes.
- 3Look at your face in the mirror: your forehead, nose and cheeks.
How to read the result
- 1If it shines everywhere: oily skin.
- 2If it feels tight, rough or flaky: dry skin.
- 3If only the forehead, nose and chin shine: combination skin.
- 4If it's neither dry nor oily and feels comfortable: normal skin.
- 5If it easily turns red, stings or burns with new products: sensitive skin.
Does your type change?
Yes. In winter skin turns drier, in summer it gets oilier. Hormones and age play a part too. Reviewing your routine a few times a year is a good habit.
